Zambia
Victoria Falls from the Zambian side and the thrill of Devil's Pool
Zambia means Livingstone and the majestic Victoria Falls (Mosi-oa-Tunya, "the smoke that thunders"), the dizzying Devil's Pool at the cliff's edge, Zambezi cruises and outstanding safaris at South Luangwa. For a Cameroonian traveler, plan for an e-visa with prior approval and a yellow fever certificate.
The visa, step by step
How to apply
Create an account on the official portal eservices.zambiaimmigration.gov.zm, select Visa → Tourist, single entry, complete the form, upload documents and pay online. For Cameroonian nationals, the application is subject to prior approval by the Director General of Immigration: you then receive an approval letter by email to print and present on arrival.
Required documents
- Passport valid for at least 6 months with blank pages
- Passport photo
- Round-trip or onward flight ticket
- Proof of accommodation or itinerary
- Proof of sufficient funds
- Yellow fever vaccination certificate (mandatory)
Good to know
- •Cameroon falls in the "visa required prior to travel" category: prior approval is mandatory, no instant e-visa.
- •WARNING: the KAZA UniVisa (Zambia + Zimbabwe) is NOT open to Cameroonian nationals. Plan a standard Zambian visa and, if crossing to the Zimbabwean side, a separate Zimbabwean visa.
- •The yellow fever certificate is required for anyone coming from Cameroon (a risk country).
A one-week budget
Round-trip flight from Douala / Yaoundé
390 000 FCFA–780 000 FCFANo direct flights. Expect 13 to 16h total with a stopover, via Addis Ababa (Ethiopian Airlines), Johannesburg (Airlink / South African Airways) or Nairobi (Kenya Airways) to Lusaka, then a domestic flight Lusaka-Livingstone (~1h, about USD 145-200 one-way) to Harry Mwanga Nkumbula airport.
Indicative round-trip price: it varies widely by season, layover and how early you book.
