United States
The dream, full-scale, coast to coast
The United States is a whole world of a destination: New York's electric skyline, the neon of Las Vegas, California's beaches, the grandiose national parks from the Grand Canyon to Yosemite, and the diversity of a continent-nation where every state has its own character. For a Cameroonian traveller it is probably the most memorable trip, but also the most demanding: the B-2 visa requires an embassy interview and careful preparation. Once there, everything is supersized, from the buffet to the landscape. The road trip is king.

The visa, step by step
How to apply
Cameroon needs a visa for the United States. Complete the DS-160 form online, pay the MRV fee (185 USD), then book an interview at the U.S. Embassy in Yaounde. Attend with your passport, the DS-160 confirmation and supporting documents. The decision rests on the interview and on proven ties to Cameroon.
Required documents
- Passport valid 6 months beyond the stay
- DS-160 form confirmation (AA barcode)
- MRV fee payment receipt (185 USD)
- Photo meeting U.S. standards
- Proof of ties to Cameroon (job, family, property) and of financial means
Good to know
- •The embassy interview is decisive: prepare your documents
- •Prove your ties to Cameroon to show intent to return
- •The MRV fee is not refunded if refused
