Ukraine
Golden cathedrals at Europe's heart (at war)
Ukraine, a vast Eastern European nation, boasts golden-domed cathedrals, a thousand-year-old capital on the Dnipro and charming, Central-European Lviv. But in 2026 the country is still at war: airspace is closed, strikes can hit any city and most governments advise against non-essential travel. This guide is provided for cultural and reference purposes. For a Cameroonian traveller, a leisure trip is neither safe nor realistic while the conflict lasts.

How to apply
Cameroon is not on the visa-exempt list: a Ukrainian visa is required, applied for in advance at a Ukrainian embassy or consulate (an e-visa is sometimes available depending on profile). - Passport valid at least 6 months
- Visa application form
- Medical insurance (min. €30,000 cover, ideally with war risk)

Good to know
- •Airspace closed: entry only by land from the west
- •Ongoing conflict: non-essential travel is formally advised against
- •Install an air-raid alert app and locate shelters
A one-week budget
Round-trip flight from Douala / Yaoundé
540 000 FCFA–900 000 FCFAUkrainian airspace is closed in 2026. Access is by flight to a neighbouring country (Poland, Moldova), then train or bus to the border. Allow 20-30 hours door to door, heavily disrupted.
Indicative round-trip price: it varies widely by season, layover and how early you book.
