Nigeria
The Giant of Africa: Lagos, the raw energy of Nollywood and Afrobeats.
Just an hour and a half from Douala, Nigeria is a blast of energy: Lagos never sleeps, it's Africa's capital of music, cinema (Nollywood) and fashion. For a Cameroonian, this is the big neighbour you've heard about your whole life — and seeing it for yourself, from Lekki's art galleries to trendy beaches and sprawling markets, means feeling the pulse of the continent. Good news on paperwork: no visa is required for a Cameroonian passport. But Nigeria is best enjoyed with your wits about you: stick to Lagos (Victoria Island, Lekki, Ikoyi) and Abuja, avoid the North-East and certain rural areas, and enjoy a country that is vibrant, hospitable and creative like nowhere else.
The visa, step by step

No prior steps: visa-free entry for Cameroonian nationals. Present your passport and vaccination booklet on arrival. No e-visa needed in this case.
Required documents
- Passport valid 6 months beyond your stay

Good to know
- •Cameroon is not an ECOWAS member, but Nigeria waives the visa for Cameroonian nationals on short stays.

- •Reconfirm with the Nigerian High Commission in Yaoundé before departure: rules can change.
