Monaco
Glamour and luxury on the Riviera
The world's second-smallest state, Monaco packs into two square kilometers a concentrate of luxury, yachts, the Formula 1 Grand Prix and palm trees on the Mediterranean. For a Cameroonian traveler, it's a showcase of European refinement: the legendary Monte-Carlo casino, the Grimaldi princely palace, exotic gardens hanging over the sea and a glittering waterfront. Though pricey, much of the rock can be visited free, on foot, and it pairs perfectly with Nice and the French Riviera. A short, brilliant, photogenic stop, ideal for a moment of Mediterranean prestige.
