Malta
A sun-drenched island fortress in the heart of the Mediterranean
Malta is a compact, sun-soaked Mediterranean archipelago packed with staggering history: fortified cities of the Knights, megalithic temples older than the pyramids, turquoise coves and honey-stone villages. For a Cameroonian traveller, it is an ideal gateway to southern Europe: English is widely spoken, distances are short and everything is reachable on foot or by bus. As a Schengen member, Malta requires a visa that Cameroonians must obtain in advance, but it is well worth it for this concentrated dose of sea, history and easy living.
