Japan
Neon, temples and trains on time to the second
For a Cameroonian, Japan is another world: an ultra-modern megalopolis brushing up against thousand-year-old shrines, disorienting cleanliness and punctuality, and refined cuisine. The time difference (8h ahead of Cameroon) and the long connecting flight require planning, but Tokyo, Kyoto and Mount Fuji richly reward the effort. A short one-week trip lets you taste the essentials, between tradition and the future.
