Hong Kong SAR China
Skyscrapers, dim sum and tropical islands: urban Asia at its peak.
A vertical metropolis suspended between sea and mountains, Hong Kong dazzles Cameroonians with Victoria Peak, a harbour lit each evening by the Symphony of Lights, the Big Buddha of Lantau and the buzzing markets of Mong Kok. One caveat, though: contrary to popular belief, the Cameroonian passport is NOT visa-exempt — a visit visa issued by the Immigration Department is required, to be applied for well in advance.
The visa, step by step
How to apply
Apply for a visit visa with the Hong Kong Immigration Department: online, by post, or via the Chinese embassy in Yaoundé which forwards it to the Department.
Required documents
- passport valid 6 months
- form ID 1003A (visitor)
- ID photo
- return ticket
- hotel booking / proof of accommodation
- proof of funds
- travel itinerary
Good to know
- •Hong Kong runs its own visa policy, separate from mainland China.
- •Local submission possible via the Chinese embassy in Yaoundé.
- •Pre-Arrival Registration does not apply to Cameroonians: a visa is genuinely required.
