Honduras
Caribbean reefs, Maya ruins and lush jungle
Honduras has a double face that makes it a fascinating niche destination: on one side the Caribbean coast and the Bay Islands, with Roatán perched on the world's second-largest barrier reef — a diving paradise at gentle prices; on the other, the mountainous interior and the Maya city of Copán, an archaeological gem famous for its carved stelae. Between the two lies exuberant nature, coffee plantations and a unique Garifuna culture on the coast. For a Cameroonian, the trip is long and the visa is obtained at a consulate, but Roatán offers some of the most affordable underwater worlds on the planet. A tropical adventure off the beaten track.

The visa, step by step
How to apply
Cameroonians are not on the exemption list: a consular visa is mandatory BEFORE departure. Apply in person or by courier at the Honduran embassy or consulate responsible for Cameroon (often a regional post), with passport, photo, itinerary, proof of funds and fee.
Required documents
- Passport valid at least 6 months beyond arrival, with 2 blank pages
- Completed visa application form + photos
- Travel itinerary and round-trip ticket
- Proof of sufficient funds
- Accommodation booking and yellow fever certificate (arriving from Cameroon)
Good to know
- •Honduras is part of the CA-4 zone (with Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua): 90 shared days — ideal to combine with Guatemala.
- •A yellow fever certificate is required as you arrive from a risk zone (Cameroon).
- •Allow for postal delays: not every country has a Honduran consulate.
