Comoros
The sultans' perfumed archipelago, between volcano and lagoons
Nicknamed the 'Perfume Islands' for their ylang-ylang and vanilla fields, the Comoros Archipelago is one of the Indian Ocean's best-kept secrets. A stone's throw from Madagascar and Zanzibar, it blends Swahili culture, Arab heritage and spectacular nature: the Karthala volcano, some of the world's richest seabeds, and the unspoiled beaches of Mohéli where turtles nest. Far from mass tourism, the Comoros offer an authentic, warm and refreshing experience.
