Canada
Wide open spaces, cosmopolitan cities and a warm welcome
Canada is a country-continent that many Cameroonians dream of, both for its opportunities and its breathtaking natural beauty. Bilingual (English and French), it has a large Cameroonian diaspora, especially in Quebec. From cosmopolitan Toronto to the majestic Rockies, from Niagara Falls to the French charm of Montreal, Canada combines modernity, grand nature and multiculturalism. The main challenge is the visa, demanding and rigorous, but once there you discover a safe, organised and incredibly welcoming country.

The visa, step by step
How to apply
A visitor visa (TRV) is mandatory for Cameroonians, applied for online on the IRCC portal then biometrics at the VFS Global centre in Abuja or another competent city. A very well-documented file is required.
Required documents
- Passport valid with several blank pages
- Completed online IRCC application form
- Proof of strong funds (several months of bank statements)
- Invitation letter, flight and hotel bookings
- Proof of employment, family ties and a detailed travel plan
Good to know
- •The Canadian visa is demanding: prove strong ties to Cameroon to show your intention to return
- •Biometrics are mandatory and done at an approved centre outside Cameroon
- •An incomplete file almost always leads to refusal
